Dan Chosich started creating digital videos at the dawn of the millennium. Passionate about bringing more beauty into the world than darkness he summoned the will to pursue a career in the visual arts. Early in 2004, at the age of 18, he began interning on a documentary that would ship with Bungie's Halo 2. Two years later he would be starting Bungie's first video documentary series for Halo 3. Deciding to leave that job in 2005 and pursue a degree in filmmaking and later in 2008 a pursue a masters degree in motion media design at Savannah College of Art and Design. During those years of schooling Dan worked on projects for Bravo, Disney XD, Comedy Central, Kelloggs and OWN.
In 2010, Dan and Alan Williams created Empire. A graduate thesis for Urban Outfitters based on a children's book. It was a passion project mixed with the fantastical and escapism. Upon completing the degree Dan and Alan went to work for Imaginary Forces' NY office. There Dan worked on the rebrand for W, Spike TV and VH1's Salute the Troops. That same year Dan was recruited by Microsoft to join 343 Industries in their stewardship of the Halo franchise.
From beginning of 2011 to the end of 2012 Dan worked on all non-MARCOM video marketing materials for Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 4.
In 2013, Dan took his understanding of broadcast motion graphics and began work on creating an exclusive channel dedicated for Halo, aptly named the Halo Channel. The Halo Channel aims to bridge the gaps between passivity and interactivity by bringing a custom tailored view of the Halo world to an audience.
In conjunction with the combined aspirations to create personalized entertainment and rewarding experiences, the Halo Channel offers exclusive stories that go beyond the content and enrich the comprehension of the subject. In 2014, Dan and Kiki Wolfkill set off to prove a second narrative can enhance a linear story by working with Scott Free Productions to add second stories to Halo: Nightfall. Halo: Nightfall's second stories prove that a narrative can be colored through the addition of additional context.
While work on the Halo Channel is in its infancy, the future of the network is bright, the possibilities to be something greater is evident, and the desire to become something meaningful for millions is driving.
